The power social media has now proved that it is also capable of providing parents and children. In one such bizarre case, a 28-year-old from Gorakhpur got a mother over the internet and his wedding was attended by his Facebook mother who flew down all the way from the US.

The wedding guests were left surprised when they saw 60-year-old Deb Miller on the sides of the groom from Gorakhpur, Krishna Mohan Tripathi.

Tripathi is a student of MSc from Awadh University in Faizabad and wants to become a lawyer.

Tripathi and Miller’s relationship dates back four years ago when he stumbled upon her Facebook profile. Soon both of them started exchanging messages and during the course, Miller learnt that Tripathi’s mother had died when he was a teenager. On the other hand, Miller, a resident of California, also do not have children. They soon developed a mother-son relationship.

After his marriage was fixed, Tripathi invited Miller to his wedding and the latter agreed to come to India in order to attend the ceremony. She also brought jewellery worth Rs 25 lakh as gift for the newly-wedded couple.

Deb hogged all the limelight as she was dressed in a Banarasi saree. She said that she was so impressed by the Indian tradition and culture that she bought about two dozen sarees to take back home.
