Prayagraj: A couple in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, has allegedly defrauded students, traders, lawyers, housewives, and others of approximately ₹400 crore before fleeing, according to police officials.
The couple lured people into investing in properties and absconded with the money
Several police teams have been constituted to trace the couple.
An FIR has been lodged against Abhishek Dwivedi, the director of Niharika Ventures, his wife Niharika, and his father Om Prakash.
Victims of the scam reported that the accused established the company two years ago, promising lucrative returns on real estate investments.
The investors were drawn in with offers of properties in various areas of the district.
Over the past two years, more than 200 people invested in the company and even persuaded friends and relatives to do the same.
Police officials have confirmed that, to date, 221 fraud victims have come forward, leading to the registration of an FIR for the ₹400 crore fraud.
