Moradabad (UP): Anuj Chaudhary, a 34-year-old leader of the BJP in Sambhal, met a tragic end as he was fatally shot outside his residence in the Pakwada area of Moradabad.

The incident occurred in the early evening when Anuj Chaudhary was out for a stroll near his apartment, accompanied by his brother Puneet. Without warning, three assailants on bikes approached and unleashed a hail of gunfire. Despite his brother’s swift efforts to rush him to a nearby hospital, Anuj succumbed to the gunshot wounds.

Hailing from the Aliya Nekpur village in Sambhal, Anuj maintained a residence within a Moradabad society. His involvement in the political arena was notable; he contested the block chief elections for the Asmoli block in Sambhal district, albeit unsuccessfully, losing by a margin of 17 votes.

Renowned for his active participation within the party, Anuj Chaudhary was a familiar face at various party gatherings in Sambhal. Tragically, the recent upheaval surrounding his motion of no-confidence against the incumbent block chief appears to have precipitated this unfortunate incident, as revealed by his brother in his statement to the police.

Swift action was taken in response to the incident, with Moradabad SSP Hemraj Meena and SP city Akhilesh Bhadauria promptly arriving at the scene to initiate a comprehensive investigation.

Following standard procedures, the body has been transported for autopsy to ascertain the exact circumstances surrounding Anuj Chaudhary’s untimely demise.

Addressing the ongoing investigation, SSP Meena stated, “A formal complaint has been registered against Amit Chaudhary, Aniket, and an unidentified individual. We have deployed multiple teams with the aim of apprehending the suspects involved.”
