Unnao: On Sunday afternoon, tragedy struck as a speeding truck collided head-on with a bus near Jamaldipur village along the Hardoi-Unnao road in the Safipur police station area. This devastating collision resulted in the loss of six lives and left more than 20 others injured, according to authorities.
Following the collision, the bus driver fled the scene, while the truck driver was apprehended by the police.
Those injured in the accident were promptly taken to the community health centre in Safipur, from where they were referred to the district hospitals in Unnao and Kanpur for further medical attention.
Circle Officer Safipur, Rishikant Shukla, confirmed the tragic toll, stating that six individuals lost their lives, and over 20 sustained injuries. The bus, carrying 35 passengers at the time of the incident, bore the brunt of the collision.
Among the injured, 11 were transferred to Kanpur for treatment, while nine were admitted to the district hospital in Unnao. Fortunately, some passengers with minor injuries were discharged after receiving initial first-aid treatment.
Efforts are currently underway to identify those who lost their lives in this unfortunate incident.
