Varanasi, UP: The son of Brijesh Singh, a notable figure within certain circles, found himself the victim of a cyber scam recently, losing a significant sum of money in the process. According to authorities, Siddharth Singh was deceived out of a substantial amount, approximately ₹11 lakh, by an individual posing as a legitimate representative of a well-known paint company, as per police reports.
Inspector Vijay Narain Mishra, from the Cybercrime police station, confirmed that a formal complaint lodged by Singh has prompted the initiation of an investigation. The complaint has led to the filing of an FIR under various sections of the Indian Penal Code related to cheating, forgery, and relevant sections of the IT Act.
Singh’s complaint detailed his interaction with an individual named Amit Singley, who purported to be associated with the paint company in question. Singley allegedly convinced Singh to deposit the aforementioned sum into a specified bank account, under the guise of securing a dealership opportunity. Singh complied with this request in early March, transferring the funds as instructed.
However, subsequent attempts to contact Singley proved futile, leading Singh to visit the company’s Mumbai office for clarification. There, he discovered that Singley was neither a director nor an employee of the company, and no dealership opportunities were being offered as advertised.
Convinced of being victimized by fraudulent means, Singh proceeded to file a complaint with the authorities, expressing his grievances over the ordeal.
It’s worth noting that Siddharth Singh is the son of Brijesh Singh, a figure known within certain circles for various reasons, notably his historical conflicts with the gang led by Mukhtar Ansari, who passed away recently.
