Ghaziabad : A 55-year-old individual has been apprehended following allegations of his involvement in the demise of his spouse, whom he purportedly retained in their residence for a span of four days. The distressing odor emitting from their dwelling in Ghaziabad prompted Bharat Singh to take a seat outside his residence, vocally proclaiming his culpability in his wife’s demise and urging neighbors to alert law enforcement authorities.
The occurrence unfolded within a leased apartment in a residential enclave in Ghaziabad. Senior law enforcement official Naresh Kumar disclosed that the lifeless body of Sunita (51) was discovered within the premises yesterday. “We were alerted by concerned neighbors regarding Bharat’s purported act of strangulating his wife, Sunita. Upon our arrival, we located the deceased within their residence. It appears the homicide transpired at least three days prior. The suspect has been apprehended. During interrogation, he admitted to the crime, citing a domestic dispute as the catalyst for the altercation leading to his wife’s demise. We have notified the deceased’s relatives and dispatched the body for post-mortem examination,” Kumar stated, underscoring that the investigation is ongoing.
A neighbor expressed bewilderment, stating they were unaware of the incident until Singh confessed to them about his involvement in his wife’s demise and expressed his desire to surrender to authorities. “Her remains were within the residence for a period of 4-5 days before law enforcement arrived and retrieved the body,” the neighbor recounted.
Another neighbor recounted Singh’s public declaration of his actions as he sat outside his residence, informing passersby of his role in his wife’s demise. “We are uncertain about the circumstances. He sat here and repeatedly exclaimed, ‘I have killed my wife, please have me arrested.’ Consequently, we contacted law enforcement, leading to the discovery of the deceased. We seek no further involvement,” the neighbor concluded.
