The 48-page stamp book, which features stamps from more than 20 nations, is an attempt to highlight Lord Ram’s appeal on a global scale.
On Thursday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi unveiled a book containing stamps from all over the world honoring the venerated deity, as well as a set of commemorative postage stamps devoted to the Ram Temple in Ayodhya.
The intricate design of the stamps captures the essence of Shri Ram Janmbhoomi Mandir, with six distinct components. These include the Ram Mandir itself, the timeless Choupai ‘Mangal Bhavan Amangal Hari’, a radiant depiction of the sun, the sacred Saryu River, and sculptures found in and around the temple.
The six stamps in the collection depict important characters and scenes from the Ramayana. These are the Ram Temple, Kevatraj, Ma Shabri, Jatayu, Lord Ganesh, and Lord Hanuman.
“I had the chance to participate in another program associated with the Ram Mandir Pran Pratishtha ceremony today. Six Ram Temple-themed postage stamps were released today. Additionally, a global book of stamps honoring Lord Ram was also published, according to a video statement from Prime Minister Modi.
Officials said that each stamp is adorned with a touch of elegance, featuring a gold leaf of sun rays and the Choupai, adding a majestic touch to the entire miniature sheet.
The five elements—earth, fire, water, air, and sky—also known as the “Panchabhutas”—are incorporated into these stamps, which is what makes them unique. The stamps represent the perfect harmony of Panchamahabhutas through a variety of design elements, which are thought to be necessary for all manifestations in Hindu philosophy.
A 48-page book that illuminates Lord Ram’s global resonance is released alongside the stamp. More than 20 countries’ stamps, including those from the US, NZ, Singapore, Canada, Cambodia, and even international organizations like the UN, are displayed in the book. The purpose of this collection is to highlight Lord Ram’s enduring appeal and global influence on a variety of societies.
