Lucknow: In contemporary Indian wedding processions, the groom typically chooses between traditional horseback or modern car rides to reach his bride-to-be’s house. However, a recent incident in Uttar Pradesh showcased a unique blend of both modes of transportation, as a groom devised a distinctive entrance by appearing to ride atop a car.
Captured in a photograph during the procession, the groom was depicted standing grandiosely atop an SUV, resembling a statue, as it traversed a national highway. Despite the dramatic display, local law enforcement authorities expressed disapproval, resulting in the seizure of the SUV.
The groom, only identified as Ankit from Bhaila village in Saharanpur, was en route to his bride’s residence in Kushawali village in Meerut. During the journey, Ankit stood atop the vehicle, while a drone was employed to document the unconventional scene along the Delhi-Dehradun National Highway.
Upon receiving reports of a groom performing a risky stunt on the car’s roof, authorities intervened. The wedding procession was halted on NH-58 by the Mansoorpur police, and the vehicle was confiscated. Further inquiries into the incident are currently underway, as confirmed by Khatauli Circle Officer Yatendra Singh Nagar.
