A viral video showing the unkempt surroundings of a Fresh Menu cloud kitchen in Mumbai has raised eyebrows, with many users expressing concerns over cleanliness and food safety. The video, shared by an Instagram user (@octanexoxygen), shows the area around the kitchen in Kalina, Santacruz East, which is described as muddy, filled with potholes, and housed in a run-down building. The user, who had ordered a paneer dish but received chicken instead, decided to visit the location to see what the facility was like. He filmed the surroundings, which appeared neglected and unclean, and also shared a peek into the pantry.

In the video, the user explains his disappointment with the establishment’s state, advising viewers to “be careful.” Later, he posted a follow-up video showing his interaction with the kitchen staff, where a staff member admitted to the mix-up in the order, explaining that it was due to new staff joining.

In response to the incident, Fresh Menu issued a statement on Instagram apologizing for the order mix-up and addressing the concerns about the kitchen’s location. The company clarified that they follow all necessary food safety measures within the kitchen, but as tenants in the building, they have limited control over the external environment. They assured customers that corrective actions have been taken, including retraining staff and collaborating with other businesses in the area to improve the surroundings.

The video has prompted reactions from users, with many emphasizing the importance of checking reviews and photos before ordering from new places, citing past experiences with similar issues. Some users also recalled other incidents, such as finding a cockroach in a Fresh Menu sandwich.
