A man’s “quality check” on a bread pakoda he bought for Rs 25 has left the internet both surprised and concerned. Nikhil Saini, who documented the entire experiment in a video, claimed that the paneer stuffed inside the snack was “fake.” The video, shared on Instagram, has since gone viral, with over 17 million views, sparking a heated debate online.

In the clip, Nikhil rinses the paneer with lukewarm water before testing it with iodine tincture. The moment the solution touches the paneer, black patches appear, leading him to question its authenticity. To validate his claim, he repeated the test on another piece of paneer, which he insisted was real. Unlike the first sample, this one showed no colour change.

“Look at this, friends. Notice the difference. The real paneer hasn’t changed colour, while the other one turned completely black,” Nikhil says in the video.

The video prompted mixed reactions, with many viewers backing Nikhil’s concerns, warning against consuming paneer from street vendors. One user remarked, “Believe it or not, no one is cooking real paneer for you unless you buy it yourself.”

However, others pointed out that the iodine test only detects starch, not other possible adulterants like synthetic milk or poor-quality coagulants.

The viral clip has left food lovers questioning the authenticity of paneer in street food, with some even advising to avoid paneer outside altogether.
