Mumbai: A Vistara flight UK 024 en route to Mumbai from Paris, carrying 306 individuals, received a bomb threat, leading to a full emergency declaration at Mumbai’s airport just before its arrival. The flight departed from Charles de Gaulle Airport in Paris.
The aircraft touched down safely at 10:19 am on Sunday, as reported by the news agency PTI, citing insider information. The threat was discovered via a handwritten note on an air sickness bag, indicating the presence of a bomb.
A full emergency was declared at 10:08 am, shortly before the plane’s arrival. The flight carried 294 passengers and 12 crew members, according to sources.
Vistara confirmed the security alert in an official statement, explaining that their staff identified the threat during the flight on June 2, 2024. Adhering to established security protocols, Vistara promptly notified the appropriate authorities, as stated by a spokesperson for the airline.
