Ahmedabad: Businessman Parag Desai, a prominent executive at the Wagh Bakri Tea Group, tragically passed away on Sunday at the age of 49. Desai succumbed to severe injuries sustained while trying to fend off a pack of stray dogs outside his residence on October 15, as reported by Ahmedabad Mirror.
Following the incident, Desai was rushed to Shelby Hospital after being alerted by a security guard. After a day of observation, he was transferred to Zydus Hospital for a surgical procedure. Despite medical efforts, he tragically suffered a brain hemorrhage during treatment and did not survive.
Desai, who served as the Director and owner of Wagh Bakri Tea, was highly respected in the business community. He was the son of Rasesh Desai, the Managing Director of Wagh Bakri Tea Group. Desai leaves behind his wife Vidisha and daughter Parisha.
Gujarat Congress chief and Rajya Sabha member Shaktisinh Gohil expressed his condolences on social media, mourning Desai’s untimely demise. Desai’s contributions to the industry, particularly in International Business, Sales, and Marketing, spanning over 30 years, were widely recognized. He was an active participant in industry platforms such as the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and was respected as a leading voice in the business community.
