The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has reported a massive disruption in water supply across multiple regions on Sunday, July 20, due to a severe pipeline breach between the Parvati Water Treatment Plant and S.N.D.T. (MLR).
As per an official release from the Water Supply Department’s Executive Engineer, the damage has prompted a temporary suspension of water distribution from S.N.D.T. (MLR), S.N.D.T. (HLR), and Chaturshingi Tank. Although restoration efforts are underway, the repair process is expected to be time-consuming.
From S.N.D.T. (HLR):
Kothrud, Shivajinagar, Gokhale Nagar, Model Colony, Vadarwadi, Sangamwadi, Senapati Bapat Road, and neighboring areas including Dahanukar, Ideal, Kishkinda, Gujarat, Hanuman, Rambagh, Police Line, and State Bank Colony.
From S.N.D.T. (MLR):
Law College Road, Erandwane, Karve Road (Jhala Society to Shivaji Statue), Paud Road, Sahakar Vasahat, Warje Ward vicinity, Mayur Colony, Bhimnagar, Vedanta Nagari, and various local societies like Swapna Mandir, Kshipra, Patwardhan Bagh, and Bharat Kunj.
From Chaturshingi Tank:
Aundh, Bopodi, Khadki, Pune University Campus, Sanewadi, Sakal Nagar, Chikhalwadi, Abhimanashree, Anand Park, Chavan Nagar, and surrounding societies.
Residents in these zones are requested to store water in advance and use it wisely. PMC confirmed that repair teams are working urgently to resume normal supply soon.
