Srinagar: In a horrifying incident which occured in Srinagar on Tuesday, January 1, a father was arrested for trying to bury his infant alive.
The accused identified as Manzoor Hussain Banyari of Jammu and Kashmir’s Shopian district, was caught by the people of the old city of Nowhatta, while he was trying to bury his infant which was alive.
A police officer said, “People handed over the accused to the police station in Nowhatta. He stated that the infant was suffering from some congenital disease to treat which he did not have the means. The accused was arrested, a case registered against him and later released on bail. The child has been shifted to a hospital for treatment.”
“The mother of the child is also in a hospital where she delivered the baby,” he added.
