Asansol: The West Bengal which is polling on Phase 4 of 2019 Lok Sabha elections, witnessed rampage between the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Trinamool Congress (TMC) supporters, here on Monday, April 29. Amid this, TMC candidate from Asansol Lok Sabha constituency, Moon Moon Sen has said that she knew nothing about the ruckus as she woke up late.
Earlier, in the morning, when singer/politician, sitting MP and Union Minister of State for Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises Babul Supriyo was on his way to cast his vote in the Barabani polling booth, a group of TMC supporters reportedly, vandalised his car damaging it completely.
After this rampage, when Moon Moon Sen was asked about her first reactions on it, she said, “I woke up late as I was served my bed tea late. I am not aware of what has happened and gone wrong in the polling booth. I am not aware of any clashes.”
Further, she said that clashes were common all over the country and not only restricted to Bengal.
Meanwhile, Babul Supriyo clarified that he was just there to check how the electoral process was going on in the polling booth and alleged that some of the voters were being not allowed to exercise their franchise.
He said that he would fight for this citing that it was a shame on the democratic process.
When the reporters sought Moon Moon Sen’s reaction on Supriyo’s statements, Sen avoided that question and told the reporters not to take his name in her presence.
