A 38-year-old woman in Agra has been arrested for the brutal murder of her ex-boyfriend, whom she allegedly attacked with a baseball bat and a beer bottle following a dispute over her new relationship.
The victim, Brajveer Singh, 40, was found deceased in the Malpura area of Agra on Saturday, with severe head injuries. Kavita Chahar, a resident of SR City Colony, reportedly planned the murder with her current boyfriend and several friends.
According to Deputy Commissioner of Police (West) Sonam Kumar, Kavita had been in a relationship with Brajveer Singh for ten years before falling in love with Surendra Chahar and moving in with him. This change angered Brajveer, who had previously been imprisoned for arson related to Surendra Chahar’s property, based on Kavita’s testimony.
“Harassed by Brajveer’s threats after his release from jail, Kavita arranged a meeting with him on June 15,” said Kumar. “During the altercation that ensued, Kavita, along with Surendra Chahar and their friends Atul, Rohit, and Sonu, brutally attacked Brajveer with a baseball bat and smashed a beer bottle on his head. After the assault, they disposed of his body near the Rohta canal.”
Brajveer’s family, who had disowned him due to his relationship with Kavita, declined to claim his body. The police have taken Kavita and her accomplices into custody, charging them under IPC sections 302 (murder) and 34 (acts done by several persons in furtherance of common intention).
The investigation into this tragic incident is ongoing.
