A 26-year-old woman succumbed to injuries following a car crash allegedly triggered by a dispute with her fiancé in Noida, police said. The case has raised serious concerns over reckless driving and escalating personal conflicts turning fatal.

Dispute escalates into violent confrontation

The deceased, Radha Chauhan, a resident of New Kondli in New Delhi, was engaged to Shiva Tyagi since November last year. According to her family, tensions had arisen after she suspected him of being involved with another woman.

On March 30, Radha reportedly went to Sector 73 in Noida after being informed that Tyagi was there with another woman. Upon confronting him, a heated argument broke out, which allegedly turned physical.

Forced into car, chased by unidentified vehicles

According to the complaint filed by her brother, Tyagi allegedly forced Radha and his friend into a car and drove away from the scene. Soon after, a group of unidentified youths began chasing the vehicle in two cars, including a Tata Nexon.

Crash at Sector 51 turns fatal

As the vehicles approached a U-turn near Sector 51 metro station, the Nexon allegedly rammed Tyagi’s car. He reportedly lost control, and the vehicle crashed into a road divider.

The complainant alleged that Tyagi was intoxicated at the time of the incident.

Victim succumbs to injuries

Radha sustained critical injuries and was first admitted to a private hospital in Noida before being shifted to Safdarjung Hospital in Delhi. Despite treatment, she died on April 1.

Police register case, probe underway

Police have registered a case under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), including rash driving and causing death by negligence. Investigators are examining CCTV footage and recording witness statements to determine the sequence of events and identify all those involved.

Family seeks justice

The victim’s family has demanded strict action against the accused, alleging negligence and reckless behaviour led to her death.
