Kasargod: Barely days after a Kerala professor courted controversy for his ‘sexist watermelon’ remarks on women, another person teaching at a government college in God’s own country has absurdly remarked that kids born to women, who degrade womanhood and prefer to dress like men ( referring to women wearing jeans) are more likely to be transgenders or suffer from autism.

Ironically, the man Rajith Kumar happens to be holding ‘health awareness’ classes at various colleges or government offices in Kerala for several years now.

“When a woman degrades her womanhood, or a man degrades his manhood, the girl born to them will have the characteristics of a man. A child born to such a woman will be transgender or ‘napumsakam’ or Hijra. Already, more than 6 lakh transgender people have been born in Kerala,” remarked Rajith at a counselling session held in Kasargod.

Further, he also commented that kids born to parents with rebellious streak suffer from a disease called autism. He justified his remarks by playing a video clip of a foreign family, where the mother is seen wearing a jeans and both the children are autistic.

“Do you see that? The mother is wearing jeans and both her children suffer from autism,” Rajith exclaimed.

Meanwhile, the state government has has come down heavily on Rajith for the absurd and derogatory remarks made by him. Education Minister KK Shailaja, on Sunday released a statement barring all government
departments and agencies from inviting Rajith from taking part in their programmes.

An unapologetic Rajith, however stood firm by his statements, claiming that his remarks were based on years of academic experience and were backed by science. He even released a 7-minute video on Facebook, late
on Monday, to justify his remarks. “I have been sincerely working towards ensuring that the young generation are not waylaid and that they give birth to healthy children,” comments Rajith in the video.

There are a number of clips on video platforms like YouTube that feature Rajith delivering his pseudoscience to audience or discussing them on television programmes. A YouTube channel that appears to belong to him has about 2500 followers.
