Hyderabad: All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) chief Asaduddin Owaisi has given a strong reply to those BJP leaders, especially MoS (Finance) Anurag Thakur’s statement ”Desh Ke Gaddaron Ko Goli Maaron Saalon Ko” by saying that he is ready to take bullets to his chest.

Addressing a gathering on Sunday, February 10, he said, “No matter what the consequences, I will not show the documents for the Citizenship (Amendment) Act, National Register of Citizens (NRC) and National Register of Population (NPR). If you want to shoot me, I’m ready for it. I’m ready to take bullets to my chest, as I love my country and that country lies in my heart.”

“The names and legacies of our ancestors are enough to prove that we are citizens of this country. My country is everything for me and if you try to snatch it away from me, I will fight for it, even if I lose my life in that battle. People will remember me for it,” he added.

Lashing out at the BJP government, Owaisi said, “I would like to thank the BJP for erasing fear in Muslims. We will not fear death as your government and leaders are ready to do what one of your MoS’, Anurag Thakur said.”

It can be recalled that Anurag Thakur had raised the controversial slogan during the Delhi Assembly election campaign recently, which had invited lot of flak against the BJP, forcing the party high command to drop the minister from the ‘star campaigner’ list.
