Dr Joshua Samraj, a young postgraduate medical student, was found dead inside his parked car in a secluded forest area near Poomparai, close to Kodaikanal in Tamil Nadu. Authorities believe the doctor may have taken his own life, possibly by self-administering intravenous fluids.
Dr Samraj was pursuing his MD in Salem and working at a hospital in Madurai. His car remained parked in the area for three days, raising concern among locals who then informed the police. Upon inspection, officials recovered a note from the vehicle in which Dr Samraj apologised to his family. The note did not name anyone or mention a specific reason.
According to his family, the young doctor had been showing signs of emotional distress, possibly due to relationship-related issues. Investigators have also revealed that he was in financial debt, though the exact cause of it remains unclear.
Amid online speculation that the doctor may have lost money in gaming activities, police clarified there is no mention of this in the note and no such claim has been made by his family.
The final cause of death will be confirmed following a post-mortem examination. A case has been registered and investigations are ongoing.
