A 25-year-old man died after collapsing suddenly while drinking water at a roadside stall in Ajmer, in an incident suspected to be caused by a heart attack, police said.
Sudden collapse shocks friends
The deceased has been identified as Sandeep alias Sanju Didwania, a resident of Subhash Nagar in the Ramganj area. According to preliminary information, he had stepped out early in the morning to drop a friend near the women’s hospital.
While returning, Sandeep and his friends stopped at a roadside tea stall. It was during this time, while drinking water, that he suddenly complained of uneasiness and collapsed.
Declared dead at hospital
His friends immediately rushed him to Jawaharlal Nehru Hospital (JLN Hospital). However, doctors declared him brought dead on arrival.
Family members suspect that Sandeep suffered a heart attack, though the exact cause of death is yet to be confirmed.
Police begin investigation
Ramganj police have initiated an investigation into the incident. Sub-Inspector Gujral stated that the deceased’s brother, Vikas Didwania, has submitted a written complaint detailing the sequence of events.
The body has been kept in the mortuary, and a post-mortem examination will determine the precise cause of death.
Rising concern over sudden cardiac cases
The incident adds to a growing number of reports involving sudden cardiac events among young individuals. While medical confirmation is awaited in this case, such incidents continue to raise awareness about the importance of timely health check-ups and recognising early warning signs.
