MORADABAD: A- tragic case unfolded in Uttar Pradesh as 23-year-old newlywed Samreen took her own life, leaving behind a distressing video accusing her husband and in-laws of continuous mental harassment. The woman recorded the video on her phone just before her death earlier this week, alleging that the abuse pushed her toward this desperate act.
According to police reports, Samreen had reached out to her father in distress, revealing that her in-laws were physically abusing her. When he arrived at her home, she was found dead. In the video, Samreen appears deeply troubled, sharing that she had been struggling emotionally after a miscarriage.
She described constant harassment by her husband Junaid and his family over minor matters, such as her eating habits, and claimed they even cut off power to her room. “My in-laws are responsible for my death. My husband is also partly responsible. He doesn’t understand me and blames me for everything. His father and sister keep influencing him against me. I can’t take it anymore,” she said.
Samreen further revealed that her husband and in-laws repeatedly pressured her to end her life. “My husband asks me, ‘Why don’t you die?’ My sister-in-law and father-in-law say the same,” she shared. Reports state that Junaid was in Bengaluru when the incident occurred.
