A 21-year-old YouTuber allegedly died by suicide at her residence in Rayadurgam following reported relationship issues, police said.
The deceased, identified as Komali, was a native of Visakhapatnam and was pursuing a BSc degree in Hyderabad. She had been staying with relatives at Chitrapuri Colony in Manikonda.
According to Rayadurgam Inspector Venkanna, Komali was in a relationship with Nikhil Reddy, a software engineer and fellow YouTuber from Visakhapatnam. Police sources indicated that the couple had recently experienced differences, reportedly over marriage, and that Nikhil had been attempting to distance himself from her.
Previous attempt and counselling
Police revealed that nearly six months ago, Komali had allegedly attempted suicide. On that occasion, her relatives intervened and ensured she received counselling support.
Despite family intervention, tensions reportedly resurfaced in recent weeks. On Monday, when no one else was at home, Komali allegedly hanged herself using a saree.
Case registered
The incident came to light on Tuesday after her mother lodged a complaint with the Rayadurgam police. A case has been registered, and further investigation is underway to ascertain the circumstances surrounding her death.
Authorities have stated that statements from family members and others concerned are being recorded as part of the inquiry.
