Ranveer Allahbadia, known as BeerBiceps, appeared before the Guwahati Police on Friday for questioning over his remarks on Samay Raina’s India’s Got Latent show. A viral video from the day shows police personnel escorting him up a flight of stairs, seemingly pushing and pulling him.
Hours of interrogation
Arriving in Guwahati on Thursday night, Allahbadia was questioned for over four hours by the Crime Branch, led by Joint Commissioner Ankur Jain. He was accompanied by his lawyer. According to police officials, he cooperated fully and assured future compliance.
The legal battle
Multiple FIRs have been registered against Allahbadia across the country for allegedly obscene comments on parents and sex. The Guwahati Police booked him under the Bhartiya Nyay Sanhita, IT Act, Cinematograph Act, and Indecent Representation of Women (Prohibition) Act.
Despite securing interim protection from arrest from the Supreme Court, the court labeled his remarks as “vulgar,” stating they reflected a “dirty mind.” Other YouTubers linked to the controversy, including Ashish Chanchlani, Jaspreet Singh, and Apoorva Makhija, have also been summoned.
The case remains ongoing, with authorities set to issue further notices to those yet to appear.
