Zomato has silently withdrawn its ‘Quick’ 15-minute food delivery feature from its main app, just four months after its launch, as reported by Money Control. Promoted as part of Zomato Everyday, the service is now absent from major cities like Bengaluru, Gurugram, Hyderabad, and Mumbai. The company hasn’t officially responded but may rework and relaunch the offering.

‘Quick’ once allowed ready-to-eat meals from nearby restaurants (within 2 km), but it has vanished from Zomato’s explore tab. CFO Akshant Goyal had previously indicated its minimal impact, saying such initiatives were in early stages and not yet significant.

In March, Quick contributed about 8% of Zomato’s total orders. However, this marks another retreat from fast food delivery for the platform. In 2022, Zomato Instant, promising 10-minute delivery, also folded within months. It was replaced by Zomato Everyday, which now appears to have been phased out too.

Zomato has shifted its strategy to Bistro by Blinkit, using Blinkit’s dark stores to deliver snacks and small meals separately. Meanwhile, Swiggy launched its own rival app, Snacc, and Zepto Café, Magicpin, and BigBasket are heating up competition.

CEO Deepinder Goyal acknowledged the difficulty of scaling ultra-fast food delivery, citing the challenge of getting restaurants on board. He admitted past efforts didn’t fit the market well but hinted at simpler, more snack-focused offerings like samosas and puffs in the future.
