Jiah khan case, mother claims repeated suicide attempts before meeting sooraj
Veteran actress Zarina Wahab made startling claims about the late actress Jiah Khan during a recent conversation. According to Wahab, Jiah had attempted suicide multiple times before crossing paths with her son, Sooraj Pancholi. Speaking to Lehren, she remarked, “She had already tried four or five times earlier, but fate intervened, and it happened when my son was involved.”
She further reflected, “Destiny had it that when my child became a part of her life, this tragic incident occurred.”
Wahab also discussed the immense challenges her son faced after being implicated in Jiah’s death. She asserted that false accusations severely harmed his career. “Ruining someone’s life with untruths is like taking a loan—you’ll eventually pay back with interest,” she remarked.
Jiah Khan was discovered dead at her residence in June 2013. At the time, she was dating Sooraj Pancholi. Her mother alleged mistreatment by Sooraj and his family, leading to charges of abetment to suicide against him. Sooraj, arrested initially, later secured bail.
Jiah’s mother pursued the case further, prompting the Bombay High Court to transfer the investigation to the CBI. The agency’s chargesheet accused Sooraj under Section 306 of the IPC.
However, a special CBI court acquitted Sooraj Pancholi in April 2023, citing insufficient evidence linking him to Jiah’s death.
