Kalaburagi Jail Chief Superintendent Receives Alleged Threat
Kalaburagi: On Thursday, Kalaburagi Jail Chief Superintendent R. Anitha reported receiving a disturbing audio message via a police inspector, in which an unknown individual threatened to blow up her car. However, despite the alarming message, Anitha clarified that she had not personally received any such communication and stated that she would not be filing a police complaint.
Speaking to the media, Anitha mentioned, “Somebody sent an audio message to a police inspector, claiming they would blow up my car. I personally have not received any such message yet, so I will not be lodging a police complaint.” She added that the threat has made her more cautious moving forward.
This incident comes on the heels of a controversy from last month, after Anitha assumed her position as Chief Superintendent of Kalaburagi Jail. Following viral social media posts showing inmates receiving special treatment, Anitha ordered raids and intensified searches within the prison. The operation led to the seizure of several items, including cell phones, gutka, cigarette packets, and beedis, from the inmates.
The police have yet to receive an official complaint regarding the threat, and investigations are underway to ascertain the source and validity of the claim.
