Kalaburagi: Two young men have landed in legal trouble after filming a violent, fake murder scene for their short film without any permissions, causing alarm among residents and triggering police action. The Kalaburagi Sub-Urban Police registered a suo motu case and arrested Saibanna Belagumpi (27), an auto driver from Siddeshwara Colony, and Sachin Sinde (26) of KK Nagar, after their disturbing video went viral on social media.

According to authorities, the duo was shooting for a short film titled Mental Majnu. On Monday night, they staged a chilling murder sequence right in the middle of Humnabad Ring Road. Neither locals nor officials were informed. In the scene, both actors, smeared in red paint resembling blood, appeared semi-naked. One actor sat on a “bloodied” body while the other wielded an iron hammer, screaming violently to simulate a gruesome murder.

The shocking visuals quickly spread online, alarming citizens and raising safety concerns. Reacting swiftly, Sub-Urban Police traced the video’s origin, identified the duo, and took them into custody. Both were booked under multiple sections and later sent to judicial remand.

Officials have reminded content creators about the importance of seeking prior permission for public shoots, warning that irresponsible stunts that incite fear will face legal consequences.
