In an impressive performance at the Mysuru Open 2024, hosted by Jayachamaraja Wadiyar Golf Club (JWGC), Greater Noida’s Arjun Sharma fired a super six-under 64 in round two, propelling him to a halfway lead at 13-under 127.

Sharma, who was tied for second place overnight, made a memorable impact with a hole-in-one on the 15th hole, complemented by three more birdies before the turn. Despite a quieter second nine, Sharma’s bogey-free round and consistent play left him in a strong position. He expressed satisfaction with his performance, noting the confidence boost from the hole-in-one and the excellent layout of the course that offers numerous scoring opportunities.

In a tight competition for second place, Gurugram’s Kartik Sharma, Bengaluru’s Shaurya Binu, and Chandigarh’s Akshay Sharma are tied at 12-under 128. Kartik Sharma carded a 63 with nine birdies, while Binu and Sharma both shot 64s, with Binu adding an eagle and Sharma registering seven birdies.

Overnight leader Aman Raj fell to fifth place at 11-under 129. Notably, 17-year-old Veer Ganapathy from Bengaluru, the only amateur to make the cut, is positioned 12th at nine-under 131 after a second-round 68. Delhi’s Kshitij Naveed Kaul made headlines with an error-free nine-under 61, the tournament’s lowest round to date, moving into tied 13th place at eight-under 132.

Mysuru-based golfers Yashas Chandra and Aalaap I L are currently placed tied-23rd and tied-32nd, respectively.
