Cincinnati, Ohio: Modern slavery tears families apart. Some of the most successful people the world has to offer started with absolutely nothing to call their own but worked as slaves. ‘Slavery to Stardom’ stories can not only be the motivation you need to get started but they may also be the idea you need to take the right step at the right time. Here is what we consider to be the most incredible, inspiring and informative success story of Harold Henry D’Souza, President of Eyes Open International (EOI).

Life has come full circle for Harold D’Souza. From being a near slave in Lady Liberty’s land, has now joined hands with Honorable Moisses Gonzalez, Assistant Special Agent in Charge from the Department of Homeland Security to end modern day slavery in the United States of America and educate community members in India not to enter America illegal.

Eyes Open International organized a podcast on Saturday, 16th December 2023, featuring esteemed guests Honorable Moisses Gonzalez HSI, and Harold D’Souza international motivational speaker. The discussion was moderated by Hriday Raval, Regional Director – India, EOI.

Moisses Gonzalez spoke, “So first of all, to communicate to all our public that I personally am very thankful to Raval, to D’Souza, to Denise, and to all our non-profit organizations like Eyes Open International. Without you, these types of engagements wouldn’t be possible. We thank you for your confidence and your trust, D’Souza, in inviting me.

I’m very honored. I personally shared your story already several times. It’s very inspirational and motivating.
So, I mean, you, D’Souza and Raval, you guys are, you are the ones that deserve the accolades and the efforts,
Because of D’Souza, I can’t start to explain or even think of processing everything you went through and to share that, to be able to open that and share that as a victim is extremely important. And I can’t thank you enough D’Souza”.

R.K. Sharma from Mumbai spoke to the press; There are apparently many “Rags to Riches” story that we may have heard but this is one unique tale of a man and his family who fought all the odds in a country which didn’t welcome them when it was needed. Today this nation takes pride in them as their citizens and also appreciates the efforts that this family takes in serving humanity.

Harold and Dancy D’Souza are living examples showcasing the power of faith and trust in God which can move mountains. Their aptly named Eyes Open International organization is doing the exemplary work of educating people who are potential prey for the dark world of human trafficking. Not only do they ensure to keep them away from the clutches of trafficking predators but are also a beacon of hope for many who have been victims and are seeking a second chance to live a free life.

This inspiring interview session was titled “Combating Human Trafficking: A Global Perspective with a focus on India and USA.”

Denise Hauser representing HSI spoke; “It was an honor for Moisses Gonzalez and myself to be on this show and to get that message out there. And my message is pretty much echoing everything that Special Agent Moisses Gonzalez has said. This is a heinous crime, and it is Homeland Security investigations job to combat it. The number one message you want to send is you are a victim and you deserve to feel safe and that is what homeland security investigations is here to do”.

Moisses Gonzalez expressed, “I want to continue to share in the position, as Homeland Security Investigation, Department of Homeland Security. We are dedicated to eradicating this heinous crime. That is one of our investigative priorities. For me personally, it’s very close. I can tell you that for many of us who do this job, it’s part of what we want to do. It’s not just a job. It’s what we want to do. We continue to engage with our non-profit organizations. We continue to engage with our foreign governments. We have consistent delegations that we host through the Center of Combating Human Trafficking from Foreign Nations. We provide that support to our NGOs. This is a consistent and dedicated effort to eradicate the crime of human trafficking”.
