Through teacher-student interaction, the series strives to highlight teachers and their impact on students. The programme was premiered on NewsKarnataka.com’s Facebook and YouTube channels.

At the beginning of the programme, Kiran Nirkan introduced the guests and welcomed him.

Teacher Sujesh P. H sharing his teaching experience said, “College for me is like a temple. It was sports on one side and NSS on the other which helped in getting me a state-wide recognition.”

Student Vignesh Kundapura stating his bond with sir shared, how Suraj sir had kept an arm’s distance from him for being a student from Kundapura, as he had a negative experience with people from the place. He also shed light on the relationship built with sir by looking at Vignesh saying ‘no’ to throwing a plastic cover on the soil. Vignesh said, “NSS is an identity and everyone should make use of it.”

Sushmitha K. shared, “The first time I stepped on the stage was at college to give my personal introduction. Back then sir had appreciated me for my communication skills and saw a bright future for me in the same. Sir is a sensitive human in spite of being called strict. We have witnessed him have tears of joy when students achieve success in sports post a year’s practice.”

Darshan Jain said, “The cheat meal which is a trend today, back in 2013 – 14 we students would do it escaping the eye of sir. Suraj sir would suggest us not to consume junk food being a sports student as it would affect our fitness. It was a proud moment for us to see students from other colleges take blessings from Suraj sir as we were directly trained under him.”

Nagaraja said, “If there is a memory which would remain immortal in my college life that would be of Suraj sir. He is a man who believes in work and a leader by action, not words.”

Expressing the important role of teachers in moulding a future generation, the guests expressed, “The role of a teacher in guiding an individual towards an optimistic thought process is commendable. When a teacher shares the knowledge with the service motto the best knowledge is achieved. The best teacher is the one who teaches life lessons.”

Both teachers and students appreciated the initiative of NewsKarnataka in recognising the teachers and highlighting the teacher-student bond.

Wishing good luck Kiran Nirkan signed off the session.
