Riyadh: The Indian Social Forum (ISF) has extended help to repatriate NRI from Lucknow, who was denied a Job and undergoing medical treatment in Saudi Arabia.

Siraj Sajipa, General Secretary of the ISF Karnataka unit in Saudi Arabia, said Rizwan Ahmed NRI  from Lucknow was in distress due to the non-renewal of his Residential ID and Driving License by his sponsor and was also undergoing treatment due to failure of his kidneys in Saudi Arabia, He had also denied Job and no medical aid was provided by his sponsor.

Explaining the plight of expatriate, Siraj said a week ago, Rizwan Ahmed’s Son-in-law had contacted  Nazim (a Member of the Indian Social Forum) and informed him about these issues.

Nazim immediately conveyed this Message to ISF Karnataka Unit President Abdul Majeed and he was also informed that the sponsor has asked Rizwan to exit through the Embassy and he cannot renew his residential ID.

After learning about this incident, Abdul Majeed advised the team to work on this case. Firstly, the  ISF team registered a complaint through Indian Embassy and since it was a medical issue, the Indian  Embassy speed up his final exit and send him back to India for proper medical treatment.

ISF Team met Rizwan Ahmed and counselled him to provide moral support, forum also promised him their support to send him back to India.

One week after registering the complaint, the NOC (No Objection Certificate) was issued by the  Embassy and he was asked to visit the Embassy to submit his Iqama and fingerprint to process the final exit. Meanwhile, the victim had a tragic collapse at home and was immediately taken to the hospital, as per the doctor’s report both the kidneys of the patient had failed and further treatment was required immediately.

Doctors had also advised that the treatment will cost him a lot of money and unfortunately the Medical  Insurance of the Victim was expired. However, the doctors informed us that they would perform the  Dialysis 3 days prior to going to India and we will need to do further treatments in India.

Meanwhile, there was some delay in exit formalities due to a change in the name on his Passport and the residential ID.

The ISF team with the help of the Victim’s Sponsor visited the Jawazat to solve this issue. The Team also visited the Embassy again with these changes being made to process an Emergency Final Exit and the authorities at the Embassy promised to process the final exit within 2 days.

As promised the Indian Embassy helped in issuing the final exit on time. After the Dialysis, Rizwan  Ahmed was discharged from the hospital and the ISF team collected the Complete Medical Record to also issue a MEDIF Certificate for the Airlines to shift him to India safely.

Rizwan Ahmed was sent back to India safely, and the air ticket was sponsored to him, on behalf of the Indian Social Forum.

  1. Uttar Pradesh Overseas Welfare Association (UPOWA) also assisted the victim and wished him a speedy recovery.

Indian Social forum conveys its gratitude to Indian embassy officials in Riyadh who assisted in the speedy processing of required documents and exit formalities.
