The Kannadiga Artistes’ Council Maharashtra marked a significant milestone with the inauguration of its new office at Victory House, Vakola, Santacruz East, on Saturday. The event commenced with a Ganahoma and opening puja, led by Vastu expert Ashok Purohit.
Council president Dr. Surendra Kumar Hegde, accompanied by his wife Vinodini Hegde and key office bearers, officially inaugurated the space with a ribbon-cutting ceremony. Distinguished attendees included vice president Kamalaksha Saraf, senior advisors K K Shetty and Devalkunda Bhaskar Shetty, general secretary Chandrashekhar Bhat, and several committee members.
Dr. Hegde expressed joy in fulfilling a long-cherished dream, emphasizing the need for a dedicated space to support and uplift artistes. He stressed the importance of a welfare fund for struggling performers, highlighting that true service goes beyond personal gain. He thanked committee members and Mumbai-based philanthropists for their contributions in making the office a reality.
The council envisions transforming this office into a vibrant cultural hub—first a small auditorium, and ultimately a grand center celebrating Kannadiga artistry beyond Karnataka.
