A North Indian residing in Canada has sparked discussion online by voicing his opinion on Karnataka’s language dispute. In a widely circulated video, he expresses solidarity with Kannadigas, asserting that their efforts to safeguard their language, heritage, and cultural identity amid rising migration are justified.

Drawing comparisons between Karnataka and Canada, he highlights growing concerns over cultural shifts due to large-scale migration. Acknowledging criticism directed at Karnataka’s residents, he states that, despite being from North India, he believes Kannadigas have a valid standpoint in defending their traditions.

“This isn’t just about language—it’s about embracing the customs and ethos of the place you choose to live in,” he explains. He stresses that integrating into the local way of life is a mark of respect, especially when one builds a career and livelihood there.

He further compares Karnataka’s situation to Canada, where an influx of immigrants over the past few years has led to rising tensions and backlash, particularly against Punjabis and North Indians. According to him, Karnataka is striving to preserve its distinct cultural fabric, much like Canada.

His remarks have sparked mixed reactions, with many agreeing that migrants should respect regional traditions, while others criticized the perceived exclusionary stance. The debate underscores the global challenge of balancing migration with cultural preservation.
