Payyar says I accept happiness and sadness without any discrimination

Dubai: The Eighth episode of NewsKarnataka.com’s talk show ‘Sunday Celebrity’ was aired on Sunday February 20 at 8.00 pm IST.

The guest for the evening was Prakash Payyar, President of Dhwani Pratishtana and Chief Editor of Vishwadhwani e-portal.

Floyd Kiran was the host for the event. The programme was live – streamed on Newskarnataka. com’s Facebook and YouTube channels.

Floyd Kiran welcomed the guest and introduced him.

Prakash Rao Payyar initiated his talk with the verses from National Poet G. S. Shivarudrappa’s poem.

“Reading has been my hobby from High School days and there was no single day I skipped on entering the library, he said informing his chain of achievements.

“My reading habit ignited me towards writing and thus became an inspiration towards working for my mother tongue Kannada answered, Prakash Rao Payyar on host’s question, How was it possible for a person like you who worked in the cities of Mumbai and UAE for 35 years to get recognised in your field of interest. As, Mumbai and Dubai are such places wherein people enter with the baggage of personal crisis and then immerse themselves in solving it.

Speaking on Tulu Literature he suggested, “The writers in Tulu literature will further improvise if they glance on the literature of other languages and get the essence of literature.”

In the ‘Celebrity Favourites’ round Prakash Rao Payyar revealed ‘Payyar’ to be his only nickname. The hostel lying between Church Gate and Beach in the City of Mumbai involves innumerable memories and so the area is my favourite, said Payyar.

Answering on how his best and worst moment he said, I have always made up my mind in believing that, our life thread is always moved by an unseen hand. So I have been accepting both ‘Happiness’ and ‘Sadness’ without any discrimination.

On concluding note, Prakash Payyar presented his Tulu poem to the viewers.
