Puneeth Nenapu, Int’l Kannadigas’ Federation holds words of tribute to Appu

Dubai: The International Kannadigas’ Federation hosted a memorable event titled ‘Puneeth Nenapu’, words of tribute to Kannada actor Puneeth Rajkumar fondly called Appu, who passed away due to cardiac arrest on Friday October 29 at the Vikram Hospital in Bengaluru.

The event was attended by over 38 Kannada organisations and fans from more than 14 countries around the world.

The veteran Kannada film actor, producer Dwarkeesh, said, “I am feeling that as if I have lost my own son.”

Former Home Minister M. B. Patil, recalled the attachment with Appu and the occasion of his last meetinG with him.

Bengaluru Shanthinagar Constituency MLA N. A. Harris recalled many incidents from Puneeth Rajakumar’s life and spoke of his simplicity.

Moodbidre Constituency MLA Umanath Kotian shared his experience of the humility and love Appu showed him during his first meeting.

Mangaluru City Assistant Commissioner of Police Nataraj spoke about the ideals of Puneeth’s life with many memories.

When Dubai’s emerging singer Umar Saif sang the songs “Ninnindale” and “ Gombe Helutaite” of Puneeth Rajkumar, all the fans became very emotional .

The organiser of the event, Kannadigas’ Federation Convenor Hidayat Addoor said, “Let us try to follow the ideals of Puneeth like simplicity, and humbleness in our lives, which would be our condolence in real sense.”

A video paying tribute to Puneeth by the Kannadigas Federation and a message from Puneeth Rajkumar at the end extending Kannada Rajyotsava was screened.

Bahrain Kannada Association President Pradeep Shetty, Abu Dhabi Karnataka Association President Sarvotham Shetty, Holland Kannada Association Ashok, Kannada Association Uganda President Sudhir, Bangkok Kannada Association President Shiv Poojary, Italian Kannada Association President Hemegowda, Kannadigas Dubai Former President Mallikarjun Gowda, Shashidhar Nagarajappa, President of Kannada Mitraru UAE , Namma Radio Founder Avinidhar Havaldar, Deepak Somashekhar of Overseas Kannada Movies too gave tribute to the great actor Puneeth Rajkumar.

Sukesh Dwarkeseh, son of Dwarkeesh, B. Mamata Radar, KN Rai Care Forum UAE Members Daya Kirodian, Mangaluru renowned Radio Jackie RJ Errol, Laxmi Lingadalli, Vadekar Abu Dhabi, Nagaraj Rao of Kannada Mitraru , Imran Khan Yermal , Senthel Bengaluru, and Ansar Barkoor, Sameer Udyavar were present.

The show was hosted by Vishnumoorthy Mysore and Mamata Sharjah delivered the vote of thanks.
