Los Angeles: No charges will be filed against the Sikh employee of a convenience store in the US who was captured on video using a stick to subdue a shoplifter. The District Attorney’s Office in San Joaquin County, California, has clarified that the store clerks, who work at Stockton 7-11, are not considered suspects. Instead, the focus of the ongoing investigation is on holding the individual responsible for attempting to rob and threaten the clerks. The shoplifter, identified as 42-year-old Tyrone Frazier, was caught on camera tossing various items into a garbage bin at a 7-Eleven store in California. As he tries to escape with the stolen goods, one of the clerks restrains him, while the Sikh employee uses a wooden stick to strike him. The incident took place after Frazier had already robbed the store on two separate occasions, where he had threatened to shoot the employees if they interfered. Despite prompt police responses, Frazier managed to escape before officers arrived on both occasions. The third robbery went unreported to the police and was captured in a viral video. Frazier was apprehended on August 7 for his involvement in vandalism and the previous 7-Eleven robberies.
