Mangaluru: In a filmy twist, a murder accused who was evading court appearance for last years has been apprehended by the Vittal police on Friday September 3 from Pallathadka near Badiyadka of Kasargod district.
The absconded Mohammed Farooque (43) from Kokala was the accused in an assault case held near Kolnadu bus stand on October 31, 2009. The accused evaded appearance in the court in the said case since 2013. Now, the accused was brought before the court.
Farooque had verbally abused, assaulted and also threatened of murdering a man from Manchi, Devappa Naika on some financial issues in 2006. Despite issuing a warrant he did not appear before the court since 2013 and was absconding. He was arrested on a definite tip-off.
