Ramanagara: An incident involving a KSRTC bus speeding and recklessly traveling in the opposite direction on the Bangalore-Mysore Expressway, thereby instilling fear in other drivers, has been reported within the jurisdiction of Bidadi police station.
A member of the public posted a video on social media where the driver of the KSRTC bus number KA10F0492 was driving in the opposite direction on the Bengaluru-Mysore National Express Highway near Kothi Anjaneyaswamy Temple in Bidadi Hobali Hanumanthanagar. Based on this post, a case has been registered against the bus driver at Bidadi police station.
On July 14, at 10.41 am, a KSRTC bus driver was driving the bus from Bidadi Seshagirihalli toll plaza on the Hanumantanagar road towards Mysore on the Mysore-Bangalore Expressway from the opposite direction. At this time, it is confirmed from the video that he was driving at high speed and recklessly in front of the vehicles moving towards Bangalore.
It is illegal for a KSRTC bus driver to drive in the opposite direction on the express highway causing fear to the drivers of other vehicles and endangering the lives of passengers. It was found that the said bus belonged to Chamarajanagar depot and left for Mahadeshwarabetta from Bangalore.
The matter was informed to the depot manager and a sumoto case was registered against the driver. Bidadi police said that the bus will be taken into custody soon
