Anekal: During a press conference in Bommasandra on Thursday, Minister Ramalingareddy launched a scathing critique of the BJP government, accusing it of fostering communal tensions and mishandling key national and state issues. He particularly targeted the BJP and its affiliated group, Bajrang Dal, for the rise in communal riots across Karnataka and the country.

Ramalingareddy stated, “The Congress party stands for harmony and is committed to preventing communal violence.” He pointed to a perceived decline in police morale during the previous BJP administration, highlighting instances of misconduct in public spaces and claiming that law enforcement became lax in upholding order.

The Minister went on to argue that the Congress government is working to restore accountability and ensure that those responsible for misdeeds face consequences. He also criticized the central government for failing to build strong relations with neighbouring countries, which he believes has negatively impacted India’s poorest citizens due to ineffective policies.

Ramalingareddy accused the BJP of being a “party of Burude” (implying deceit), suggesting that had Congress pursued investigations into alleged BJP scams, many BJP leaders would have been held legally accountable. He also noted that the Congress party does not indulge in hate politics, contrasting its philosophy with that of the BJP.

The Minister predicted that the BJP would remain in opposition for the next nine years, stating, “You can’t pay to dream,” and expressed confidence in the Congress party’s prospects of reclaiming power.
