The UPSC Civil Services Examination 2024 results brought pride to Karnataka, with two doctors and several rural achievers securing top ranks.

Dr. R Rangamanju from Bengaluru secured All India Rank 24 in his sixth and final attempt. The son of a late IPS officer, Rangamanju credited his success to his mother’s unwavering support and his own resilience. “I didn’t clear the exam in my first five attempts, but I never gave up,” he said. He also hinted at using AI tools in his preparation.

From Kodiyaal village in Ranebennur, Dr. Sachin Basavaraju Guttur clinched 41st rank on his fourth attempt, emphasizing that rural aspirants can compete at the highest level. “A strong support system and consistent effort made the difference,” he said.

Anupriya Sakya, a 25-year-old from Hesaraghatta, moved from IPS to securing 120th rank, inching closer to her IAS dream. Inspired by her father, a government engineer, and family friends in civil services, she began her preparation during her engineering final year.

The success stories of Panduranga Kambli (Rank 529) and Madhu A (Rank 544)—both sons of farmers—further highlight the transformative power of education. Panduranga, from Bagalkote, and Madhu, from Kolar, triumphed through rural schooling, repeated setbacks, and self-driven preparation.

Their journeys underscore a common message: Persistence beats obstacles, and dreams are valid—regardless of origin.
