KL Rahul’s Thoughtful Aid Helps Bagalkot Student Pursue Education
In a heartwarming gesture, Indian cricketer KL Rahul has provided financial assistance to 20-year-old Amrut Mavinakatti from Mahalingapur, Bagalkot district, enabling him to continue his B.Com studies at KLE Technological University in Hubballi. Rahul initially funded Amrut’s first-year fees and recently contributed INR 75,000 for his second year after the student excelled with a 9.3 CGPA.
This kind act is not Rahul’s first foray into philanthropy. He and his wife, Athiya Shetty, raised INR 1.93 crore through an auction in August to aid hearing-impaired and intellectually disabled children through the Vipla Foundation. Their charitable auction included memorabilia from iconic cricketers like Virat Kohli, MS Dhoni, Rahul Dravid, and international stars such as Jos Buttler and Quinton de Kock.
On the professional front, Rahul is set to return to action in India’s upcoming Test series against New Zealand, starting on October 16, after his appearance in the Bangladesh series, where he scored 106 runs.
This gesture by Rahul highlights his commitment to giving back to society while continuing to shine on the cricket field.
