Karnataka: Three individuals tragically lost their lives due to heavy rainfall in separate incidents across Gadag and Bagalkot districts. Police reported the incidents on Monday, indicating that cases of unnatural deaths have been registered in both instances.

In the first incident near Hunashikatti in Naragund taluk, Gadag district, two men—Shivappa Ashokappa Avaradi (25) and Manikantha Ashoka Mallapur (26)—were swept away while attempting to cross a flooded embankment. They were en route to rescue Manikantha’s wife, a school teacher stranded in Naragund due to the heavy rains. The incident occurred around 9 PM on Sunday, and their bodies were recovered on Monday morning after an autopsy at Naragund government hospital.

In a separate incident in Mooganur village, Hunagunda taluk, Bagalkot district, a farmer named Mallappa Shivappa Basavanala (38) was washed away while riding his bike on a bridge. The incident happened around 8 PM on Sunday when he was swept off by rising waters. His bike was later found on the bridge, and his body was recovered downstream near a ditch. An autopsy was conducted at Hunagund taluk hospital, and his body was returned to his family.
