
BJP youth leader arrested in Ballari for alleged abuse case involving minor
Ballari: In a disturbing development, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) youth wing leader Devu Naik has been taken into custody by Sirigeri Police in connection with a case involving the abuse of a seven-year-old girl. Authorities also mentioned that a woman was involved in aiding the accused.
The incident came to light after the child’s parents filed a complaint, following which police registered a case under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. Naik has undergone multiple rounds of questioning, and the investigation is ongoing.
Naik, a resident of Siraguppa taluk, was reportedly eyeing a party ticket for an upcoming district-level election. Social media posts show Naik pictured with key party figures, sparking public concern.
Officials have assured a thorough probe and necessary action as per the law.
