Bellary :  In a significant development, the Supreme Court on Monday lifted restrictions on Gangavati MLA Janardhana Reddy’s entry into Bellary, sparking jubilation among his supporters.

Fans gathered near the Kanakadurge Temple and SP Circle in Bellary city, bursting firecrackers and cutting cakes to share sweets. This ruling overturns a 2011 ban imposed due to illegal mining charges.

Reddy was arrested by the CBI in 2011 and granted conditional bail in 2015. Although he briefly visited Bellary on several occasions, including his daughter’s marriage and granddaughter’s christening, he was barred from permanent residence.

The Supreme Court’s decision has now removed all conditions, allowing Reddy to stay in Bellary permanently. His supporters are ecstatic.

A meeting will be held at Reddy’s Bellary residence to discuss logistics for his homecoming, including the route, programs, temple visits, and the attendee list. The meeting will be chaired by Reddy’s wife, Aruna Lakshmi.

BJP leader T. Darappa Nayaka led celebrations in Siruguppa taluk, distributing sweets and firecrackers at Gandhi Circle.

Janardhana Reddy’s newfound freedom to enter Bellary is expected to boost his involvement in the upcoming Sandur by-election. His personal participation in election work may influence ticket distribution, fulfilling a key supporter’s desire.

Janardhana Reddy will visit Anjanadri on Tuesday and later head to Bellary, where a separate meeting with supporters is planned.
