In two tragic accidents in Ballari district, two motorcyclists lost their lives, and four others sustained injuries.

In the first incident, Tayappa (40), a resident of Myasakeri in Hosapete, was riding a motorcycle with his wife Radha (35) and children Divya (10) and Dhruva (8). The family suddenly entered National Highway-50 near Danayakanakere while attempting to cross the road. A speeding SUV, traveling from Hosapete to Kudligi, collided with their bike. The impact threw all four riders into the air.

Tayappa tragically succumbed to his injuries en route to a trauma care center in Ballari, while Radha and the children are undergoing treatment. Mariyammanahalli police have filed a case and are investigating the incident.

In another accident near Bannihatti village, Riyaz (25), a pizza delivery rider, died when the motorcycle he was riding brushed against the parapet wall of the Narihalla bridge. His co-worker Kiran (24), who was with him, sustained severe injuries. It is suspected that overspeeding led to the crash.

Kiran is currently receiving medical care, and Toranagal police have registered a case to probe further.

Both incidents highlight the growing concerns around road safety and reckless driving.
