Bengaluru: Bharath Bandh effect in Bengaluru on Wednesday was visible as workers from various organisations took part in a rally from Town Hall to Freedom park against Road Transport Safety Act on Wednesday. State Bank of Mysore Bank was closed due to the bandh in the city.
Meanwhile Kannada Activist and ex MLA Vatal Nagaraj took part in a solo protest against Road Transport Safety Act of Central Govt.
Nation-wide strike was called on Wednesday, 2 September, by 10 central trade unions who decided to protest against the labour reforms proposed by the NDA government.
The unions are protesting government’s decision to take factories with up to 40 workers out of the labour laws as it affect job security of most of the workforce. Some unions fear that they will lose influence in the labour market with the enforcement of new labour reforms.
