In a harrowing incident highlighting the escalating stray dog crisis in Belagavi, a five-year-old girl named Pravinya Boyer was savagely attacked by three stray dogs in Ganeshpur on Sunday evening. The canines dragged her along the road, inflicting severe injuries to her abdomen, back, and legs. She is currently receiving intensive care at the district hospital.

This alarming event follows a similar attack just a day prior, where a seven-year-old boy in the same locality was mauled by stray dogs. Residents have repeatedly appealed to the Belagavi City Corporation (BCC) to address the growing menace, but their pleas have been met with inaction. Frustrated and fearful, parents are outraged by the authorities’ negligence, holding them accountable for the escalating danger.

When approached for comments, the BCC health officer declined to respond, further exacerbating community concerns.
