Key Highlights of the Fitness Challenge

Dr. Varsha Sathe, the coordinator of the Foundation, announced during a press conference that approximately 200 doctors are expected to participate. The challenge includes activities such as walking, running, and cycling, which participants will track using their cell phones. A dedicated mobile application has been developed to record and monitor these physical activities, with points awarded based on individual efforts.

Addressing Doctors’ Health Needs

This initiative is the first of its kind in Belagavi, focusing on the health of doctors who often sacrifice their own well-being to care for others. Dr. Varsha emphasized the importance of doctors taking care of their health, noting that their lives are frequently misrepresented as glamorous. In reality, doctors endure long hours, missed meals, and lack of sleep, which can lead to significant health issues.

Upcoming Mega Health Mela

The 78-day challenge will culminate in a mega health mela on September 29 in Belagavi. This event will bring together a variety of health-related activities and resources, providing attendees with an opportunity to engage in holistic health practices and gain valuable health information. Rajendra Belgaonkar, a member of the Dr. Sathe’s Aarogya Mitra Foundation, was also present at the press conference.
