Bagalkot: District Health Officer (DHO) Dr Ananth Desai has urged District In-charge Minister Umesh Katti to supply oxygen to the district before situation goes out of hand.
DHO was speaking to minister Katti on his visit to the district for the first time after he became the in-charge minister on Wednesday May 5. DHO informed minister that on an average, the district needs 18 kilolitres (kl) of oxygen per day where the supply is only 8 kl. Please arrange for the same, he pleaded.
Deputy Commissioner Dr K Rajendra, who intervened, said that the district hospital faced an oxygen shortage on Tuesday evening and that is when egislator Veeranna Charanthimath arranged oxygen cylinders from Hangal Kumareshwara Hospital of which he is the working president, he informed the minister about grave situation.
Katti assured help for enhancing oxygen supply and also asked Opposition party Congress’ cooperation. Let us be united and there be no politics in this issue, he maintained.
